Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and scaling high-quality software and data solutions that create value for our clients and internal applications. You’ll combine deep technical expertise with leadership skills, playing a key role in leading projects, mentoring colleagues, and shaping our technical direction. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just build great solutions themselves, but also helps take the team’s technical capabilities to the next level.

An important part of this role is using AI effectively and responsibly throughout the development process. You’ll use modern AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and focus on complex challenges, architecture, and impact rather than routine coding.

What will you do?

• Design, build, and scale high-quality, maintainable software and data solutions.
• Lead development projects from concept to delivery, taking end-to-end ownership.
• Translate client needs and business requirements into technical solutions and architectural decisions.
• Set the technical direction within projects and act as the technical point of contact for the team, stakeholders, and clients.
• Develop and improve backend and frontend applications, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Effectively apply AI-assisted Engineering for code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
• Maintain high code quality through code reviews, testing strategies, and development best practices.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, actively contributing to their technical development.
• Continuously improve our development processes through AI, automation, and modern engineering practices.
• Work closely with engineers, product owners, stakeholders, and clients to deliver solutions that create real value.

Who are you?

• You’re an experienced software engineer with a strong engineering mindset and a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• You have strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and backend development, preferably with FastAPI, as well as experience with frontend development, such as React, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui.
• You understand the importance of good system design, software architecture, database design, and building scalable, maintainable applications.
• You have experience with cloud environments, modern development processes, and deploying cloud-native applications.
• You understand how AI can be effectively applied in software development and have experience with AI-assisted Engineering.
• You take end-to-end ownership of projects, can make independent technical decisions, and know how to balance speed and quality.
• You have proven experience leading technical projects, take responsibility for technical decisions, and actively mentor other engineers in their development.
• You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and can explain complex technical concepts in an understandable way.
• You’re analytical, solution-oriented, and able to maintain an overview, even when working on multiple projects at the same time.
• You actively follow developments in software engineering and AI, enjoy sharing knowledge, and like working closely with the team at the office.

• Backend & databases: Python, SQL, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, database design, and data modeling.

• Cloud & infrastructure: Microsoft Azure, Docker, Terraform, and cloud-native deployments.
• Development & CI/CD: Git, GitHub, CI/CD workflows, code reviews, and testing.

Nice to have

In addition to the core skills, there are a few things that would be a strong plus:

• Experience building AI-driven applications and knowledge of AI Engineering best practices.
• Experience leading larger development teams or working in a formal Tech Lead role.
• Experience designing and scaling complex software architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
• Experience with database migrations, such as Alembic.
• Experience optimizing AI-assisted development processes and workflows.
